Info zu Fruitful Days
Listening to Rosa Butsi feels like waking up with the sun on your face. Her music sounds timeless and soft, like terracotta and honey. With 'Fruitful Days', she presents a debut album that feels like a coat you want to wear every season.
In her alter ego, the name of her Hungarian grandmother - from whom Roos Denayer inherited her musical genes - finds the perfect embodiment. Rosa Butsi received the renowned Soundtrack 2020 award and has since been artist in residence at Het Depot (BE). She has shared stages with artists like Black Sea Dahu, Douglas Firs (with whom she now plays live) and Gabriel Rios and has undeniably left her mark on the fabric of the music industry. Her compelling compositions, along with Trui Amerlinck (bass) and Jordi Geuens (drums), are pared down to a symphonic beauty
Leading up to the release of Fruitful Days from her debut, several singles have already been advanced. "Time" delves into the enigma of time and offers reflective introspection that calms the soul. With the playful "Cesar", Rosa portrays a tender longing that has been put to the test for far too long. "October 15th" is about sensing when a peak has been reached and then daring to let go; that saying goodbye can be an act of wisdom.
'Fruitful Days' consists of songs that have matured as resonance after important life lessons. Some sweet, some bitter. It is personal, uninhibited, organic and embraces the human with open arms. Between the music, you hear breaths, the touch of the guitar, the movements of the musicians. As if you are next to them and there with them. There is something magical and honest in those moments. Everything sounds liberated, the husks may come off. Rosa Butsi thus chooses a clear direction and, with 'Fruitful Days', harvests a debut album to muse away at.
The album's production by Nicolas Rombouts (Dez Mona, Stel Kamil Carlens, ...) and mastering by Olaf Skoreng accentuate its excellence.
Rosa Butsi
Rosa Butsi
inherited her musical genes from her Hungarian grandmother, whose name is now borne as an alter ego. With her warm voice and accompanying herself on guitar, she provides an ear-pleasing melange of jazz and singer-songwriter. In trio with Trui Amerlinck on bass and Jordi Geuens on drums, Rosa Butsi presents her debut album Fruitful Days.
After her win at Soundtrack 2020, Rosa Butsi rolled from one thing to another. For her debut EP Circle One (2020), she let different musicians from her circle of friends inspire and accompany her for each song. After it, a concert film (2021) and now the further completion.
