Info for Places

The Ongoing Concept is much more than a band. It is an idea, something created to continue on forever. Nothing stays the same, everything evolves. It is the nature of life to grow, change, and follow what we think is right in the moment. The PLACES you have been make you who you are. The PLACES you will go make you who you will become.'"

"Places wholly succeeds in its attempts to set itself apart from the crowd. With a wild clash of styles ranging from Every Time I Die southern-rock, to let-live vocal displays, to early Panic at the Disco kineticism, The Ongoing Concept work a great deal of creativity into LP number three. Places straddles the boundaries of the vaguely familiar and refreshingly foreign, and the only way you'll have heard something decidedly similar is if you're already acquainted with the bands last two records (both of which are well worth a listen). The Ongoing Concept, centering around the frenzied figure of Dawson Scholz, is a force to be reckoned with, and with Places they make whatever-genre-this-is sound very good indeed." The Ongoing Concept

The Ongoing Concept
An eclectic, progressive, Christian metalcore outfit from Rathdrum, Idaho, the Ongoing Concept were formed in 2010 around the talents of siblings Dawson, Kyle, and Parker Scholz and their childhood friend TJ Nichols. The quartet became active while all of the members were still in high school. In 2011 they issued a debut EP, Arrows Before Bullets, which led to a deal with Solid State Records, who put out the band's debut studio long-player, the Wild West-themed Saloon, in 2013. The LP received positive reviews and managed to land at the number 38 slot on Billboard's Heatseekers chart. Released in 2015, Handmade, the band's sophomore studio outing, garnered even more acclaim, with critics citing the group's masterful playing and inventive songwriting. Led by the fiery single "The Print," the Ongoing Concept returned in late 2017 with their third LP, Places.
