Ali Farka Touré performs ‘Savane’ live at Palais des Beaux-Arts in Brussels in January 2005. The show, which at the time was his first European show for more than five years, was among the very last performances of Ali's touring career. Ali is accompanied by ngoni masters Bassekou Kouyate and Mama Sissoko, both of whom feature on the studio album 'Savane'.
World Circuit Records will reissue 'Savane' on 6th September. Remastered and available on double vinyl for the first time, ‘Savane’ is the last solo album by the iconic Malian guitarist and desert blues pioneer. Recorded in Bamako and produced by Nick Gold, ‘Savane’ is Ali’s testament, a powerful reaffirmation of his umbilical link to Malian music and a potent reminder that the blues came from this part of Africa.
