Smallpools
Los Angeles-based indie pop collective Smallpools has made a colossal impression on the music world in an astoundingly short time. The group came together in 2013 after New Jersey guitarist Mike Kamerman and New York singer Sean Scanlon moved to Los Angeles to pursue their love of music. They quickly linked up with bassist Joe Intile and drummer Beau Kuther, who had just arrived in LA from Oregon. Within a year the group had built a huge following on music blog Hype Machine and earned a deal with RCA Records.
In July 2014 they released their self-titled debut EP, an auspicious debut that featured four upbeat, hook-heavy tunes produced by L.A. trio Captain Cuts. The EP's hit single 'Dreaming' reached mainstream audiences thanks to featured spots in video game FIFA 14 and hit show 'The Vampire Diaries'. Since making their live debut at the Brooklyn Bowl in summer 2014, Smallpools has performed at Lollapalooza and opened for major indie acts including Walk The Moon, Neon Trees, Magic Man, and Two Door Cinema Club.
