Als Symbiose zwischen der Kunst des Dichters und der des Komponisten wurde die französische Mélodie zum Juwel der Salons der “Belle Époque”. Mit einem Streichquartett und einem Klavier um den Sänger herum oszillieren Chaussons „Chanson perpétuelle“, Lekeus „Nocturne“ und Faurés „La Bonne Chanson“ zwischen kammermusikalischer Intimität und orchestraler Ambition. Neben diesen berühmten Pionierwerken setzt sich dieses vom Palazzetto Bru Zane konzipierte Programm für eine Rückkehr zur im 19. Jahrhundert so beliebten Transkriptionskunst ein, mit dem Ziel, das Repertoire für Stimme, Streicher und Klavier zu erweitern und so einige vergessene Schätze wiederzuentdecken. So erscheinen Hahn, Berlioz, Saint-Saëns, Massenet, La Tombelle, Ropartz, Louiguy und Messager in einem Programm, dessen Leitfaden die Emotionen der nächtlichen Verlassenheit sind: der Charme der Dämmerung, der Verlauf der Träume, der Schrecken des Alptraums oder die Heiterkeit bei festlichen Anlässen. Alexandre Dratwicki hat diese Arrangements im Stil des 19. Jahrhunderts kreiert. Passend dazu endet das Programm mit „La Vie en rose“, denn diese Musik zeigt wie ein Kaleidoskop alle Farben menschlicher Emotionen. Die Textur von Solostreichern und Klavier versetzt die Erzählkunst der Véronique Gens in ein neues Licht.

A prominent Baroque performer in recent years, soprano Véronique Gens has also become recognized as one of the word’s finest Mozart singers. Her success in the role of Donna Elvira in DON GIOVANNI at the Aix-en-Provence Festival under Claudio Abbado and Peter Brook was followed by appearances at the major European opera houses and festivals. She has worked with such orchestras as the Berlin Philharmonic, Age of Enlightenment, Orchestre National de France, Orchestre de Paris, Rome’s Santa Cecilia, the Royal Flanders Philharmonic Orchestra, the Lyon Opera Orchestra, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, les Arts Florissants and Les Talens Lyriques and with conductors including Claudio Abbado, Charles Dutoit, Frans Brüggen, Louis Langrée, William Christie, Marc Minkowski, John Neschling, Wyung-Whun Chung, Ivor Bolton, Jean-Claude Malgoire, Jean-Claude Casadesus, Christophe Rousset, Trevor Pinnock, Sir Neville Marriner, Marek Janowski, Marcello Viotti, Thomas Hengelbrock, Serge Baudo and Sebastian Weigle.
