Info zu Chopin: Valses
Rising star pianist Emmanuelle Swiercz-Lamoure presents a solo album of Chopin's intoxicating waltzes. Written throughout his life from his teenage years through to soon before his early death, the Polish composer only published eight during his lifetime, pieces which are set apart from other waltzes of the day in that they were intended as art pieces rather than music for dancing. This by no means restricts their lively and highly inventive nature, however, elements which are brought out by Swiercz-Lamoure's enchanting interpretations.

Voted a “favourite” by Pianiste magazine and one of Classica’s most exciting new recording artists, Emmanuelle Swiercz has already made three recordings of music by Rachmaninoff, Schumann and Liszt, gaining glowing reviews and awards from the music press, including a recommendation by the Japanese magazine Record Geijutsu, 4 stars from Monde de la Musique and a 9 score from Répertoire. According to Classica, “charming and seductive in each one of these pieces, she performs them with verve and delicacy as well as a perfect understanding of their meaning”.
Although she did not start to play the piano until the age of nine, Emmanuelle Swiercz gave her first concert only two years later. At the age of 16, a unanimous vote of the jury offered her a place at the Paris Conservatoire, where she studied with Michel Béroff, Denis Pascal, Marie-Françoise Bucquet, Leon Fleisher, Murray Perahia and György Kurtág.
She has received grants from the Groupe Banque Populaire Foundation, the Cziffra Foundation and the Société Générale music sponsorship programme and won prizes at the Ricard Viñes and Maria Canals international piano competitions.
