Info zu Tomorrow Never Comes
Touch ist eine amerikanische Band aus New York City, die 1978 von Mark Mangold (Keyboards und Gesang), Glenn Kithcart (Schlagzeug), Craig Brooks (Gitarren und Gesang) und Doug Howard (Bass und Gesang) gegründet wurde. Touch's erstes Album wurde in den USA auf Atco und in Europa auf Ariola veröffentlicht und ihre ersten Singles »Don't You Know What Love Is« und »When The Spirit Moves You« erreichten die Billboard Hot 100 Charts.
»Don't You Know What Love Is« wurde Ende der 70er und Anfang der 80er Jahre in den USA häufig auf AOR-Sendern gespielt und erreichte auch in Großbritannien gute Platzierungen in den Melody Maker Charts. Touch war die erste Band, die 1980 auf dem ersten Monsters of Rock Festival in Castle Donington spielte. Eine Live-Version von »Don't You Know What Love Is« erschien auf der Compilation-LP Monsters of Rock, die Auftritte auf dem Festival dokumentierte.
Bekannt für ihre einprägsamen und abwechslungsreichen Songs, ihr herausragendes musikalisches Können, die üppigen Gesangsharmonien und ihre dynamische Bühnenperformance, steht Touch immer auf der Liste der TOP AOR Bands und ihr Album wird von vielen als eines der besten AOR Melodic Rock Alben aller Zeiten angesehen. Die Band hat sich nun reformiert, um das neue Album »Tomorrow Never Comes« zu schaffen, das als ihr bisher bestes Werk gefeiert wird.

Mark Mangold
The talented and prolific Mark Mangold has worked with Fiona, Benny Mardones, and Wayne Newton. Originally from Florida, Mangold first drew attention as the keyboardist for the '70s Long Island outfits Valhalla and American Tears. American Tears evolved into Touch. In the '80s, Mangold backed Michael Bolton on the singer's first two records and the two also penned Cher's 1987 hit "I Found Someone." Mangold worked the blues with Al Pitrelli in Flesh & Blood, and is the driving force behind Drive, She Said. In the '90s, Mangold combined forces with another Long Island luminary, Randy Jackson of Zebra. The pair formed the super non-group Sign. Mangold also released Mirror Image on his label Indigo Records. This solo work deals in new age philosophies and tones and he even wrote a book, The New Faith. The new century found Mangold working on soundtracks and a second solo slab. Yet another project, called Mystic Healer, features songs written with Canadian legend Aldo Nova. (Doug Stone, AMG)
