Info zu Lantau
The Kalle Pill Quintet, which has actually been in existence for a few years now, has reached its debut album. Recorded at the end of 2021, "Lantau" is a well thought-out sequence of clear melodic lines, tastefully highlighted solo forms, well-timed tempos and changes, and invitations open to the listener in its warm overall tones. The quintet's long-player hits two audiences in one fell swoop - the discerning jazz player and the curious 'beginner'. The recipient of the 2017 Tiit Paulus Young Guitarist Award, Pilli has caught the eye of discerning music lovers over the past decade in a variety of pop and jazz ensembles, accompanying Hedvig Hanson, performing with the Ramuel Tafenau Quintet and Marianne Leibur's ensemble, and blending organically with the Liis Lemsalu Band. Perhaps it is from such versatility that the ability to capture different audiences comes. In addition to Pill, the quintet includes Janno Trump on bass guitar, Ramuel Tafenau on drums, Joel-Rasmus Remmel on keyboards and Keio Vutt on saxophones. Carried throughout by the work of Kalle Pill, "Lantau" is a story told with a peaceful elegance of sound and a relaxed state of mind as a backdrop. Nothing is performed or hidden, nothing needs to be proved - beauty is beauty, sorrow is sorrow and joy is joy. This allows the listener to flow easily and to put themselves in the hands of the musicians.
