Manuel Granatiero präsentiert sein erstes Soloalbum, nachdem er bereits mehrere Konzertaufnahmen mit Amandine Beyers Gli Incogniti und der Accademia Ottoboni, deren Gründungsmitglied er ist, gemacht hat. Gemeinsam mit Yu Yashima und Marco Ceccato widmet er sich hier der Flötenmusik von C.P.E. Bach. Das Programm von "Light and Darkness" präsentiert fünf Sonaten aus dem umfangreichen Werk, das der Komponist der Flöte gewidmet hat: die berühmte Sonate für Flöte solo sowie zwei Sonaten mit Cembalo-Obligato und zwei Sonaten mit Basso continuo. Sie repräsentieren die gesamte Periode, in der Bach seine überlieferten Flötensonaten komponierte, und zeigen eine große stilistische und kompositorische Vielfalt: BWV1020 entstand in seiner Jugend im väterlichen Haus in Leipzig, Wq124 während seiner frühen Studienjahre in Frankfurt, Wq128 und Wq132 während seiner Dienstzeit am Hof Friedrichs II. und Wq83 während seiner reifen Jahre in Hamburg. "Light and Darkness" erkundet das Universums des "Berliner Bach" anhand einiger seiner intimsten Werke, und lassen uns den ganzen Kosmos menschlicher Emotionen zu erleben.

Accademia Ottoboni

Accademia Ottoboni
is an ensemble specialized in baroque and classical repertoire, playing on historical instruments. Founded in Rome in 2004, it gathers the soloist and orchestral experiences of some among the most active musicians on the international scene.

From 2005 to 2009 it has been Ensemble in Residence for the early music season of the IPSAR (Portuguese Cultural Institute in Rome).

The four CDs released until now – Concerts and Cantatas by Vivaldi (Stradivarius); Cello Sonatas by Vivaldi (Outhere – Music); Chamber Music by Boccherini (Outhere – Music); Il Violoncello del Cardinale (Outhere-Music) – have been much appreciated both by audience and critic, receiving many prizes such as two “Diapason d’Or”, “Gramophone Editor’s Choice”, “CD of the month – Toccata Magazine”.

Our CD dedicated to the music of L. Boccherini and published by Outhere-Music was awarded the Diapason d’Or as the best recording of the year 2015 in the category “Baroque Instrumental”.

Accademia Ottoboni has performed in many Festivals and early mucis seasons all over France, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Austria and Malta.
