Info zu Roma Eterna. A Journey Back in Time

Dieses Album ist eine musikalische Expedition, mit der wir uns von der Gegenwart bis zurück in die Renaissance begeben. Es geht um die Rekonstruktion und die Verbindung der übergreifenden Stränge, die fünf Jahrhunderte Musik einer „römischen Schule“ ausmachen. Diese Schule ist berühmt für ihre kontrapunktische Stringenz, ihr melodisches Flair und ihre populären Wurzeln. Die Bezeichnung „romano“, die so mancher Musiker vergangener Epochen stolz hinter seinem Namen trug, ist ein sicheres Indiz für die Zugehörigkeit zu einer Schule mit einem besonderen Stil. Im Jubiläumsjahr 2025 ist Rom das Ziel von Millionen von Pilgern aus allen Teilen der Welt ist, die alle ihre eigene Geschichte und Kultur mitbringen. Egal, ob es sich um geistliche oder weltliche Werke handelt, ist diese Musik ist heute wie damals in der Lage, die Seele eines jeden Menschen zu bewegen, zu erfreuen und zu nähren.

Auf seinem dritten Soloalbum erkundet der Lautenist Simone Vallerotonda sowohl zeitgenössische als auch alte Musik auf faszinierende und überraschende Weise und entdeckt dabei neue Horizonte seines Instruments.

Roman lute-player by birth and soul, he started playing the classic guitar when he was 6, but he soon understood that it wasn’t really his thing. When he was 18 he started studying the lute and graduated with honors in Italy and in Germany. Philosophy at university has been his passion and salvation in order not to join the army! He plays as a soloist and as “continuo player” with the best ensembles and all over the world. In 2014 he founded the “I Bassifondi”, his powerful baroque trio. He is open to experimentation and works with cinema and fashion… but this is a whole other story..
