Jae Laffer
Biographie Jae Laffer
Jae Laffer
is recognised as one of Australia’s finest songwriters; with The Panics he won Triple J’s album of the year and an Aria award for ‘Cruel guards’. Laffer has cultivated a reputation for lush, cinematic pop that embrace both stark intimacy and unapologetic poetic grandeur. The Panics can lay claim to being one of Australia’s most important indie bands.
He’s now finished his second solo album. “The songs celebrate simple stages and events in my life. I learnt to record and cherished the first takes of most of the music I was making in an effort to keep the spirit of the moment and capture the performance - myself on guitar and keyboards with Alex Markwell from Delta Riggs playing drums and bass and Rowena Wise on additional vocals”.
Hotel Motel and I Can’t Make Up Your Mind are the first singles taken from Jae Laffer’s new album ‘The Long Daydream’.
“Laffer has always been a rich and evocative storyteller, whether he's narrating small-town road trips or reflecting on those halcyon days hanging out in his native Perth”. - Rolling Stone Magazine
