Info for THE 11TH HOUR
Johnny Venus is stepping outside EARTHGANG for his first full-length solo statement, with ‘The 11th Hour’ arriving October 9 through Sincethe80s and Epic Records.
The 12-track debut is executive produced by The-Dream and moves Venus into a more intimate R&B-focused space, drawing from funk and soul while exploring love, connection, healing, spirituality and personal transformation.
‘The 11th Hour’ also brings a sizeable group of collaborators into that world. 6LACK appears on “So Beautiful,” Alissia and INK! join Venus on “Sarahtonin,” and Asha Imuno and Spillage Village feature on album closer “Can You Pray For Me?”
The record’s title comes from Venus’ interest in the symbolism surrounding the master number 11.
That idea informs an album concerned with duality and alignment, as well as the relationships and experiences that shape a person’s identity. For an artist audiences have known for more than a decade as one half of the Grammy-nominated EARTHGANG, the album gives Venus an entire project to explore material from a more individual perspective.
Listeners have already heard three pieces of it.
“I Want You Back,” “Porsche 911” and “Nightmares” were released ahead of the album announcement, offering early glimpses of the musical and emotional range Venus and The-Dream developed together.
The-Dream’s involvement is particularly significant. Rather than appearing for a single song, the Grammy-winning songwriter, artist and producer serves as executive producer across the project, helping shape Venus’ move into a sound rooted more explicitly in R&B.
The album opens simply with “Intro” before moving into “On and On” and previously released “Porsche 911.” The middle stretch includes “Runway Killer,” “Sarahtonin,” “American Dream” and the 6LACK collaboration “So Beautiful.”
“I Want You Back” arrives at track eight, followed by “Feng Shui,” “Swallowed Pride” and “Nightmares.” “Can You Pray For Me?” closes the album with Asha Imuno and Spillage Village.
Johnny Venus
Johnny Venus
is a GRAMMY-nominated artist, songwriter, author, and one half of the acclaimed duo EARTHGANG. In August 2025, he released his first solo EP, Shooter, marking the start of his journey as a standalone artist. His debut solo album, arriving later in 2026, is a deeply personal exploration of love in all its forms; self, partners, family, and community.
Raised in Atlanta, Georgia, Johnny (born Olu Fann) grew up in a communal, church-based schooling environment that shaped his creativity, and sense of collective responsibility, laying the foundation for EARTHGANG’s innovative sound and boundary-pushing vision. Beyond music, Johnny is dedicated to wellness and mindfulness through his yoga and lifestyle practice, COMPXSS, allowing him to connect with people globally while deepening his own journey of self-discovery. Blending rap, soul, funk, and alternative textures, his solo work offers an intimate portrait of an artist embracing growth, alignment, and wholeness in what is set to be a defining year of his career
