Info for Visions for Violin
Hawijch Elders is winner of the 2025 Premio Internazionale Antonio Mormone. Her debut album „Visions for Violin” will be released on 23 October.
„Visions for Violin is my homage to the violin, and to the visionaries who took it to new heights and depths — Bach, Paganini, Ysaÿe, Kreisler, Ernst and Vacchi. I owe my own voice to them. […] Visionaries like Bach, Paganini and Ysaÿe who are long dead but still so alive in the music they left us. Their scores are worlds where we always keep making new discoveries and learn new lessons. Timelessness is one of the mysteries of masterpieces: they remain contemporary, every generation of musicians and listeners can find meaning in them.” (Hawijch Elders)
This album opens a new chapter in Elders’ career after her first prize at the 2025 Premio Internazionale Antonio Mormone competition. Elders will perform with several famous orchestras in the coming seasons, as well as making her debut in the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam.
