Info for AudioLust & HigherLove
Few artists can deliver pure dance floor euphoria in the way SG Lewis has achieved repeatedly. From his sonically perfect debut, album Times released back in 2021, to his all-star list of production credits and remixes for Dua Lipa, Disclosure, Flume, and beyond, he has left few stones unturned in his quest for greatness. Now, tapping into the emotions and relationships built around the music we love most and the dance floors that harbor them, SG Lewis gears up to release his sophomore studio album AudioLust & HigherLove.
AudioLust & HigherLove sees the singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer build on the kaleidoscopic future-disco of his debut album times, in an expansive and ambitious record made of two halves: on one end of the spectrum, he crafts the kind of nocturnal bangers that dancefloors, underground raves, pool parties, and festivals subsist on. On the other end, he accesses a higher level of timeless pop ecstasy anchored by just the right amount of breezy hook-laden rock, organic instrumentation, and vocal eloquence. He suits one mood to the adrenaline rush of your wildest night out, and he tailors another to the blissful ride home at sunrise.
“The album is clearly split into two worlds,” SG Lewis explains. “AudioLust is the darker, lusty, infatuated, short-lived, and ego-driven version of love. The second half represents a much deeper, actualized, and fulfilled version of love. Songs fall on either half of the record. I feel like I exist in the space between DJing and being an artist. The bulk of the album was written across a series of intensive studio residencies in the height of the pandemic, with the help of some incredibly talented friends, and allowed me to explore myself as an artist in a way that I would never have dared before.”
SG Lewis
SG Lewis
is an English singer-songwriter, musician, and record producer. He’s well known for his collaborations with JP Cooper, Raye and Ray BLK, Frances, and Clairo. He's been active in the music industry since 2014. His sound is known for having a deep house, synth-pop, funk, or electronic vibe to each song he records or produces.
By occupying opposing extremes, SG Lewis finds balance in his music. On one end of the spectrum, he crafts the kind of nocturnal bangers that dancefloors, underground raves, pool parties, and festivals subsist on. On the other end of the spectrum, he accesses a higher level of timeless pop ecstasy anchored by just the right amount of breezy hook-laden rock, organic instrumentation, and vocal eloquence. Since his emergence in 2015, he went from a formative gig as resident DJ at Chibuku nightclub in Liverpool to appearances at top festivals such as Coachella and Glastonbury.
He served up a series of EPs, including Shivers[2015], Yours[2016], Dusk[2018], Dark[2018], and Dawn[2019]. He ignited collabs with Clairo, Gallant, Khalid, Victoria Monet, and Aluna George. During 2021, he presented his full-length debut, Times, powered by “Chemicals” and “One More” [feat. Nile Rodgers].
Beyond rave reviews from NME and Clash, Pitchfork attested, “Times is compact and glossy, competent and earnest.” Further acclaim came from The Guardian, GQ, Evening Standard, Notion, DIY, and DORK, while he performed on The Late Late Show with James Corden. Resident Advisor also touted his 2022 Coachella set as its “Mix of the Day.” He co-wrote and produced “Hallucinate” for Dua Lipa’smulti-platinum blockbuster Future Nostalgia and “Let Me Know” for LANY’s Malibu Nights. Not to mention, Sir Elton John tapped him for “Orbit” on The Lockdown Sessions, and they both appeared together as part of a dual interview in PAPER. To date, his total streams have eclipsed 1.4 billion.
