Teodor Wolgers
Swedish composer Teodor Wolgers began studying classical piano at the age of fourteen. Eight years later, his symphony orchestra work 'Dreams' was performed at the Berwaldhallen in Stockholm. At the age of 22, Teodor became the youngest student at the Royal Academy of Music to achieve this. Despite his young age, Teodor is already a highly regarded neoclassical composer and pianist - his instrumental and often melancholic piano music has already been streamed over 50 million times and his reworking of Daniel Avery & Alessandro Cortini's "Illusion of Time" was hailed as a "cinematic and optimistic masterpiece" by Sian Eleri on BBC Radio 1.
In 2019, Teodor released his first trilogy of EPs entitled 'memories', 'sensations' and 'hopes', the latter far exceeding his expectations and reaching 20 million streams alone. Since then, he signed a record deal with [PIAS], released his EPs 'notion', 'nocturnes' and 'narratives', signed a booking agent deal with All Things Live and released a well-received reworking of Kleerup's 'Lovers Table' (ft. AlunaGeorge). In 2021, Teodor released his debut album 'Distractions In A Capitalist World' - a highly ambitious concept album questioning the structures and the human condition under today's capitalism. In 2022, he released the EP 'Our True Nature' - a collection of works exploring the relationship between nature and man.
In addition to his solo career, Teodor is a producer and songwriter. Last year he released the soundtracks for two documentary films called 'Black Angels' and 'Longing for Áhkká'. Not even two months after the release, his track 'Arthur's Theme' had already reached 1 million streams. He has also composed songs with pop artists like Janice and Elias that have been featured in popular TV productions like 'Young Royals' and 'The Playlist' on Netflix.
His upcoming album 'Dialogues' is a collaborative album where Teodor invites some of the most interesting artists in the neoclassical scene, including Niklas Pashburg, Fejká, Midori Hirano and Abul Mogard. On his second album, Teodor explores his creative process by adding layers from other artists and art forms. The songs are all inspired by the artwork of Belgian surrealist artist René Magritte.
Teodor Wolgers continues to prove himself as a multifaceted pianist, songwriter and composer. Free in his art, he explores the contemporary world with curiosity and courage.
