Info for Take The Edge Off

Third album by the Belgian blues band. Apart from a name change, nothing has changed: the ‘Kings’ has disappeared, but the rocking is still at a high level! Originally, the Travellin Blue Kings were a blues band that worked across borders. On the one hand there were the Belgian musicians, on the other the Dutch. The reorganisation of the line-up due to travel problems during Corona turned the band into an exclusively Belgian band, equipped with drums, bass, guitar, saxophone, Hammond and harp, as befits a proper blues band. Now, for aesthetic reasons, they have decided to say goodbye to the ‘Kings’ in their name. Nonetheless: Take The Edge Off grooves, is fun and sounds much bigger than you might expect from a Belgian band in this country. Tip for all blues fans and those who want to become one.

Started late 2020 as 'full Belgian' band, Travellin' Blue Kings had a major update in autumn 2023, displaying solid letters of nobility and an impressive pedigree: Blues Lee, Last Call, The Electric Kings, The Scabs, Hideaway, Howlin' Bill, ... just to name a few.

The ‘Bending The Rules’ album, released in 2022, has been very well received and generated considerable airplay in Europe and the States (62 weeks (!) in Roots Music Report's Top 50 Blues Rock Album airplay chart in the US), resulting in the band being booked in France, the Netherlands, Germany and Norway.
