Info for It's All About Love
Following 25 years in the music business supporting stars such as Chris Norman and Kathy Kelly, Timo Gross took the decision to devote himself fully to his solo career in 2005. Since then, his prolific creative output has resulted in the release of six solo albums as well as three collaborations in the form of the 'Vineyard Sessions' with Richie Arndt, Gregor Hilden and Alex Conti. As a result, he has become established within the German blues scene.
For a long time, it has just been widely accepted that the guitarist and singer deserves his place among the international blues greats. There are good reasons why three of his albums had already been nominated for ‘The German Record Critics' Award' before he finally received the award in 2012 for 'Fallen from Grace'. In the same year Gross was also nominated for four German Blues Awards. He also received two nominations for his last album 'Landmarks' - paying homage to the heroes of his youth.
Musically, Timo Gross is all about energy and expression. This has always been a feature of both his playing and vocals. Rooted in blues, but still contemporary, he proves once again that he is an extremely modern and versatile guitarist with his own unique sound and tone. All his songs and productions bear his hallmark. Whether he's playing a Stratocaster, a Les Paul or a Firebird, his own sound always permeates his music; always unique and always individual. He has thus gained his reputation as one of the leading blues guitarists in Germany. His vocals are multilayered, with a refined rawness and yet warm. His songwriting has become more polished and complex.
'It´s All About Love' oscillates between dry and flowing, between coarse blues rock and subtle Americana. These impelling songs are unique, sensitively arranged and produced, and recorded with a high degree of musicianship. It represents a consistent and logical musical development of Timo Gross' artistic identity and authenticity.
