Info for Horn Evolution!
When it comes to solo instrument pieces, one is used to hearing a piano on its own, a harp, perhaps a violin. But a horn? Not so much. Enter John Little, award-winning hornist and dedicated champion of the instrument in its solo configuration. HORN EVOLUTION! is his third album in this spirit, and like its acclaimed predecessors, makes a compelling case for the majestic appeal of the instrument.
The repertoire spans multiple centuries from the Baroque to the modern era, which affords Little plenty of room to demonstrate his remarkable aptitude. Dignified, mellow, and lyrical, HORN EVOLUTION! is likely to charm every aficionado of the instrument — and to convert those who aren’t.
