Info for Breakin' Outta Hell

Breakin' Outta Hell is the fourth studio album by Australian rock band Airbourne. This is the band's last studio album to feature its longtime rhythm guitarist David Roads, who left the band in 2017 to focus on his family business. He is replaced by an ex-Palace of the King guitarist Matt "Harri" Harrison.

Speaking about the new album title, Joel said: "'Breakin' outta hell,' it's for everybody that's having a hard time, or even if you've just had a hard week at work, or at university studying, trying to learn economics or stuff that you don't know what the fuck is going on, and you're, like, 'I just wanna rock.' Anyone who's having a bit of a shit day, we've got a saying, it's called, 'World off, music on.' So that's what it's about. Breakin' outta hell, and rock and roll is your one-way ticket out."

The album is produced by Bob Marlette and engineered and mixed by Mike Fraser. This 11-track release sees the Australian band driving their party-startin’ prowess to even greater heights, supported by European run with global heavy-hitters Volbeat, along with a headline tour of North America with 11 Canadian dates. For full list of tour dates, see airbournerock.com. Driven by a formidable work-hard / play-hard ethic, the Australian outfit (led into action by brothers Joel & Ryan O’Keeffe, vocalist / lead guitarist & drummer, respectively; guitarist David Roads & bassist Justin Street complete the line-up) have spent the past 10 years establishing themselves as a true force of nature – living on the road, selling out major venues and appearing on bills with some of rock’s most legendary names, and these latest tour dates will only add to their reputation for incendiary live performances – maximum energy, maximum entertainment.

Airbourne
is the Australian hard rock band which answers the question “Does the world need a brand new AC/DC?” The answer is “Yes,” at least if you want to relive the late-1970s excitement of discovering Bon Scott’s blistering vocals over songs written to drive fast cars to. Their line-up is Joel O’Keeffe (lead vocals, lead guitar), Matt “Harri” Harrison (rhythm guitar, backing vocals), Justin Street (bass guitar, backing vocals), and Ryan O’Keeffe (drums, percussion).

Airbourne has released four studio albums to date, “Runnin’ Wild” (2007), “No Guts. No Glory.” (2010), “Black Dog Barking” (2013), and “Breakin’ Outta Hell” (2016), all of which have seen top-40 charts around the world. They’ve also won awards including a Classic Rock Roll of Honour Award, a Metal Hammer Golden Gods Award, and a SleazeRoxx.com Award, plus been nominated for two ARIA Awards. Can they keep doing this? Yes they can!

The scrappy upstarts from Warrnambool – a country town about 3 hours from Melbourne, announced their arrival with 2007’s Runnin’ Wild, one of the most talked-about and best-reviewed debuts in recent hard rock history. Metal Hammer handed them a Golden Gods Award for Best Debut Album and Classic Rock rightly hailed them Best New Band. Airbourne further marked their territory with the jaw-dropping follow up No Guts. No Glory cracking the Top 40 in the UK, the Top 20 in Australia and Billboard’s Top 200. After unrelenting global touring that included co-headlining the legendary Wacken Festival and performing on the main stage at Download UK, the band released the critically acclaimed Black Dog Barking into the world. The album reached #5 in Germany, Top 20 across Europe, Australia, and New Zealand; and Top 30 in Canada and the U.K. Airbourne bring a sound that UK’s Metal Hammer suggests, “takes seconds to memorise and a lifetime to shake off.”
