Westpoint
The story of Norwegian west coast outfit Westpoint goes way back into the mid / late 70s when Oyvind Lied got infected by the classic US west coast sound. After starting as a instrumental jazz - rock outfit they recorded their first song with Norwegian lyrics. An A & R guy from CBS Norway was so impressed that he signed the band straight away, but with the order to change their lyrics into English. Recorded in late 1982 / early 1983 "Face To The Sea" is another prime example of first class west coast stuff from Norway and can be easily compared to the likes of PAGES, AIRPLAY and MICHAEL MCDONALD.
