Info for Violin Reflections (Live)

What would music be without reflection?

Music journalist Dr. Joachim Reiber answers this question in the accompanying text: "It would be little more than smoke and mirrors. For it is reflection that rounds off the sound and turns sound into music. The fact that music cannot do without reflection is a phenomenon of acoustics. But it is, mind you, also a phenomenon of the mind."

Every note of the music is "a living, streaming thought", according to the eminent violinist Fritz Kreisler, who set Dvořák's "Slavonic Fantasy" for the violin. Three of the famous "Humoresquen" op. 101 also by Dvořák follow, as well as his Romance op. 11 for solo violin and orchestra.

In the second part of the album, Khadem-Missagh devotes herself to the virtuoso violin with a gripping interpretation of Ravel's concert rhapsody "Tzigane". To mark the 100th anniversary of his birth, the Allegro Vivo Festival 2021 paid homage to the tango composer Astor Piazzolla with a rousing recording of his "Las Cuatro Estaciones Porteñas".
