Info for Dinu Lipatti: The Definitive Programme (Remastered)

Dinu Lipatti is a unique figure in the pantheon of pianists. His international fame is almost exclusively due to the widespread distribution of a recorded production that was, according to the words of his producer Walter Legge, ‘small in output but of the purest gold.’ (Mark Ainley, The Purest Gold, The recorded legacy of Dinu Lipatti). He was not only a miraculous Chopin’s Walzer interpreter, but also an exceptional soloist in partnership with Herbert von Karajan at the best.
