Info for Cycles

Cycles is the debut solo record of Mexico City composer and producer Bernardo Castro. It is a deeply personal exploration of identity, self-love, meaning, and healing, born from a period of profound soul-searching and introspection.

Across ten compositions, the album traces a non-linear journey from fragmentation to wholeness, from questioning to acceptance, from leaving earth to finding home within yourself. It grapples with trauma, ego dissolution, and the fundamental questions we face when everything familiar falls away the inner journey we must take to return to ourselves.

Blending live strings, brass, guitar, piano and ronroco with electronics, Castro creates a sonic landscape for the open hearted. Throughout the record we are immersed in slow moving textures that envelop us in a beautifully sculpted wall of sound. While there are moments of darkness, we are constantly drawn towards the light with sumptuous melodies that are supported by shimmering strings and bubbling synths. It is a remarkable debut that stands at the intersection of ambient-electronic and neo-classical, which is sure to resonate with fans of the genres.
