Info for Down Home Boy

Rising country phenomenon Kidd G releases his highly anticipated debut album "Down Home Boy".

The 14-track collection was co-written by Kidd G, and will feature previously released tracks “Summer In A Small Town,” his current radio single, and “Paper Hearts (F-150),” as well as a new track released, “Whiskey & Wine." Kidd G will embark on his “Down Home Boy Tour" with Spencer Crandall later this fall.

“I’m extremely excited about the release of my first album,” says Kidd G. “Each song tells a story. I wanted it to be well-rounded, fun and relatable and give the opportunity to show people who I am. I grew up listening to a wide range of music, everything from Jason Aldean, to Tupac and Juice WRLD, and those different influences come across in my songs. As an artist, I always want to be genuine and in the moment and I think people will feel that in this album.”

Co-writing each track on the album, Kidd G highlights his southern roots and relatability with recently released favorites “Summer In A Small Town” and “Paper Hearts (F-150)”. The genre-defying artist further teases the project with “Whiskey & Wine,” written by Kidd G, Bonnie Dymond, Christopher Luc Nyhus, and Dantavius Walker. In May, Kidd G released “Last Call” that shows the singer agonizing over a relationship.

Next up, Kidd G will embark on the much-anticipated Down Home Boy Tour where he will be performing alongside fellow country artist Spencer Crandall. Kicking off in Houston, TX this Fall and ending at the iconic Gramercy Theatre in New York, the seven stops will mark the first time that the 18-year-old headlines since gaining notoriety in 2020 with his viral hit “Dirt Road”. He broke the news of the tour on Instagram.

Kidd G
The 17-year-old, who hails from Hamilton, Ga., began writing his own Juice WRLD-inspired rap songs around age 16 and building a fanbase by posting tunes to SoundCloud and clips on TikTok. Last spring, he was signed by Miami-based label and management company Rebel Music and by October Kidd G had gone country with the single “Dirt Road.” The single hit No. 40 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart “strictly off of streams, an anomaly for that chart, which favors radio hits,” according to the New York Times – which describes Kidd G as “country music’s next emo-rap star.”

Kidd G’s debut EP, Teenage Dream, was released in November and hit No. 3 on Billboard Heatseakers Album chart. He’s earned a spot on Amazon Music’s ‘Country Heat’ and Spotify’s ‘Hot Country’ playlists and was named to Spotify’s 2021 “Hot Country Artists To Watch” list. His fanbase boasts more than 1.5 monthly Spotify listeners and nearly one million TikTok followers.

Geffen signed Kidd G through a partnership with Rebel Music, according to the Times, and the two companies have now teamed up with Big Machine Label Group’s Valory Music Co. imprint to continue promoting the artist, Billboard reported May 6.

“He’s got this tone that is very Juice WRLD, Post Malone. But then he can turn on his country twang and he becomes like country Juice WRLD,” songwriter and producer Bonnie Dymond told the Times.

The artist is managed by LJ Stoll at Se Lavi Productions and Stan Gabart at Rebel Lavi Music.

He’s working on his debut full-length album coming out this summer.

This album contains no booklet.
