Info for Everymen

The Fugitives may not have broken out onto the radars of the mainstream or even those keeping their ears pressed to the floor, but their latest efforts are sure to cause a rumble in the wake of their new record 'Everyman'.

Released in effort to bring pop-rock back into the limelight, the album harks back to the lost ages of classic rock that came before, even receiving a helping hand from Supertramps' John Helliwell who makes a star appearance, for one hell of a project. But despite their leanings on classic rock and pop-rock the band's versatility is never confined to such boundaries.

Tracks will often pursue the temptations of funk, gospel and more to broaden the project's palette which comes adorned with rich harmonies and irresistibly catchy song writing, the whole album casts a fresh perspective on the timeless sounds I have come to know and love!

This comes courtesy of the album's star-studded cast. To see his passion project was fitting of his vision, singer/songwriter/producer Matt Woolfe enlisted the aforementioned John Helliwell, Bowie and Beatles collaborator Ken Scott, Supertramp Synth programmer Gary Mielke, Grammy-winning Peter Henderson and even legendary Lloyd Cole & The Commotions drummer Stephen Irvane.

Looking across the record's A-list inception it's hard not to feel your jaw hanging ajar, a feeling that is expectedly matched by the album's ruthless genius.

It appears music is constantly attempting to return to the past, to reinvent the wheel but rarely succeeds in doing so. Everyman is a marvelous exception of the highest degree.

"The Fugitives deliver the masterful album, Everymen" - Roadie Music

"Really incredible songwriting and producing skills on 'Everymen'. It sounds like a classic already." - Hangover Hill Records

"Well produced and arranged. ‘Extremities’ has great backing vocals, great texture and good timely changes - you have put the song across in the first 1 minute and 30 secs, which is perfect for first time listeners." - Chris White (of The Zombies fame)

The Fugitives
is the passion project of singer/songwriter/producer, Matt Woolf.

Paradoxically, their sound is they have no fixed sound. They have no interest in the confines of category. What turns them on is the art of songwriting, composition, musicianship and production. Effortlessly crossing over multiple genres, the diverse amount of influences in their compositions makes the band's sound almost impossible to label, with every song on their latest album confidently carrying its own distinct style. For better or worse, this has become hardwired into The Fugitives' DNA - fusing punk to classical to folk to rock to funk to soul to gospel to jazz to pop, their sound knows no bounds. It's always and only about THE MUSIC.

The band collaborated with the legendary John Helliwell of Supertramp on their new album, Everymen, in which former Lloyd Cole & The Commotions drummer Stephen Irvine also joined the ranks. Aided and abetted too by long-term band members - guitarist / singer-songwriter, James Hender (ex-The Weekenders) and bassist, Michael Captain. Drummer, Andrew Booker previously appeared on the band's 2nd and 3rd EPs.

Legendary Grammy award-winning producers, Mr Ken Scott and Mr Peter Henderson were consultants on the making of the 'Everymen' album.

Based in North/West London, UK, the band have been extensively aired and interviewed on stations such as BBC Radio 6, LBC, Black On Track Radio Show and Cobwebs & Strange.

Inspired by the great songwriting traditions from the 1960's to present day, Matt found himself building a stable of highly talented writers and composers. The latest album features nine of them on one record. Much more is in the pipeline for future releases...
