According to Siegbert A. Warwitz, the prototype of the human being in the Flow is the playing child, which is happy playing on his own. Furthermore, this stands for a state of total but effortless focus. Especially musicians know that feeling of being in the Flow, delving into their own art, the rhythm and soundscape. Thomas Siffling as well is completely aware of the state of Flow. This is one of the topics the artist has covered during the creative process of working on his new album. The aim was to write and produce music, which - calmly yet groovy – invites the listener to sink deep into it and releases an enormous amount of energy. After 15 years of being part of a successful trio, Thomas Siffling is surrounded by a completely new quintet for his latest production Flow. They deliver a modern, maverick, Nordic, and electronical sound, which maintains the natural brilliance and clarity of the trumpeter.

Thomas Siffling
Born in Karlsruhe in 1972, he is considered one of the most renowned and successful jazz musicians of his generation in the German-speaking world. He studied jazz trumpet at the music conservatories in Mannheim and Stuttgart.

In the years that followed, he collaborated with Söhne Mannheims, Pit Baumgartner of De-Phazz, the band re:jazz, and Club des Belugas. At the age of 33, he received the Jazz Prize of the State of Baden-Württemberg.

Supported by the Goethe-Institut, he toured India, Sri Lanka, Canada, Haiti, and Italy. Further tours took him to Russia, South America, and almost every European country.

In 2004, he released "Change," his first album featuring electronic influences. Siffling ventured into new musical territory, establishing himself as a key pioneer of Nu Jazz and Lounge Jazz in Germany.

When the opportunity arose in 2018 to establish his own jazz club in the vaulted cellars of the Mannheim Rosengarten, he did not hesitate. With "Ella & Louis," he created one of Germany's finest jazz clubs, hosting over 100 concerts annually with 90% capacity utilization.

Ella & Louis received the national "Applaus" programming award in 2021 and 2022. In 2023 and 2024, *DownBeat* magazine named it one of the top six jazz clubs in Germany and included it in the global top 100.

In recognition of his contributions, Siffling was awarded the "Bloomaul"—the City of Mannheim's highest honorary award—in 2023. In early 2024, he opened a second Ella & Louis location at the Holzhausenschlösschen in Frankfurt.

Since 2022, Siffling has also been performing as a vocalist—clearly following in the footsteps of his great idol, Chet Baker. After a six-year hiatus, he released his 14th album, "Gentlemen's Choice."
