Info for Milk It (EP)

Thunderpussy is set to drop their new EP titled ‘Milk It’ tomorrow (October 25, 2019). the first thing I MUST say about Thunderpussy is something I feel they really deserve, beyond this EP, beyond their eponymous debut and that is “Holy Shit listen to these songs!”. What we have here with ‘Milk It’ are four ‘Robin Hoods of the underground’ making a monster of an EP that bleeds originality out of the scars of their evolution. And well deserved is that evolutionary tale of making it on your own terms. And this band has, as evident in their next step of an EP.

The songs are as varied as the minds behind the music as, within four tracks, is something for everyone. Thunderpussy shows that they are master timekeepers of the rhythm as well as brilliant songwriters in multiple genres. I can’t really find a hot track as ‘Milk It’ needs to be heard from start to finish like a travel CD to listen to while you’re going down that highway making your next memory and ‘Milk It’ is the soundtrack.

Thunderpussy

Thunderpussy
The quartet—Molly Sides [vocals], Whitney Petty [guitar], Leah Julius [bass], and Ruby Dunphy [drums]—do the most rock ‘n’ roll thing possible and quite literally fuck up every rock ‘n’ roll stereotype you know to be true, piercing the halls of Valhalla in the process. Think of it like an inverse Frank Frazetta painting where it’s the Amazonian siren wielding all of the world’s power instead of Conan (he’s on the sidelines in awe).

More simply, instead of Page and Plant, Perry and Tyler, and Jagger and Richards, you get Molly and Whitney. Known for earth-shattering pipes, heart-stopping performance art, and a propensity to literally writhe through a crowd, Molly is the consummate ideal front-person—bold, brilliant, brazen, and beautiful. At her right hand, you’ve got Whitney as the ultimate 21st-century axe-slinger—cool, collected, and crazy on that fretboard. Rounding out the fray, Leah and Ruby cook up the tightest rhythm section this side of Cream.

This album contains no booklet.
