Info for Britten's Centenary - A Ceremony of Carols

On 22nd November, the music world celebrates Benjamin Britten’s 100th birthday: in honour of this occasion, Rondeau Production releases the album Britten’s Centenary, which presents the multifaceted oeuvre of the British composer. The disc unites the exceptional artistry of the Regensburger Domspatzen under the baton of their director Roland Büchner, harpist Maria Graf, and soprano Susanne Bernhard, who perform Britten’s secular and sacred works in a remarkable production. The Regensburger Domspatzen sing the much-loved Ceremony of Carols, a work that musically narrates the Nativity in a unique manner. In her performance of the Suite for Harp, op. 83, Maria Graf resounds Britten’s favourite instrument. Together with the soprano, Graf also presents Britten’s late works A Birthday Hansel and the Eight Folk Song Arrangements.
