Saxophonist and vocalist Fabia Mantwill has already become an important part of the German Jazz Scene - with a large international focus.
In May 2021 she will release her debut album entitled ‘EM.PERIENCE’ featuring the 23-piece Fabia Mantwill Orchestra and guest soloists Kurt Rosenwinkel, Ben Wendel und Nils Landgren.
She has been writing for the Metropole Orkest (NL) feat. Becca Stevens and worked with Vince Mendoza. In November 2018 her orchestra work Sasa ndio Sasa was premiered at the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg with the Junge Norddeutsche Philharmonie and the Large Ensemble Hamburg, where Fabia was featured as a composer, conductor and soloist.
2017 she was selected for the International Workshop for Jazz and Creative Music at Banff Centre Canada, curated by Vijay Iyer and Tyshawn Sorey. And in 2016 she received the Betty Carter’s Jazz Ahead Residency by the John F. Kennedy Center of the Performing Arts.
Fabia Mantwill holds a Master of Music (by the HfMT Hamburg) and a Bachelor of Arts (by the Jazz Institute Berlin & Sibelius Akademie Helsinki), played concerts at the Kennedy Center (Washington D.C.) and the Apollo Theater (New York City) and toured in China, India, Brazil, West Africa, Canada, USA and Europe.
Since beginning of 2019 she curates her own interdisciplinary concert series called ART.IST, where she presents collaborations of international artists and musicians.

Fabia Mantwill
is a Berlin-based saxophonist, vocalist and composer with an international focus. She has been gaining increasing recognition as an important young German contemporary composer and musician with her own message.
Fabia Mantwill is releasing her debut album EM.PERIENCE in May 2021 featuring her 24-piece Fabia Mantwill Orchestra and world renowned guest soloists such as Kurt Rosenwinkel, Ben Wendel and Nils Landgren. Fabia’s work as bandleader and composer bridges several distinct musical worlds, from jazz to folk and classical music. One of the projects in which she is featured combining her many talents is the Fabia Mantwill Orchestra.
Musical highlights include concerts at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. and the Apollo Theater in New York City, as well as festivals and tours in China, India, Brazil, West Africa, Canada, USA and Europe.
She has performed with the Metropole Orkest Academy 2016 in Hilversum (NL) and was a member of the LaJJazzO Brandenburg, conducted by Jiggs Whigham. In summer 2015, she led a two-months music program in Accra, training Ghanaian musicians and actors.
Fabia Mantwill holds a Master of Music & Composition from the HfMT Hamburg, a Bachelor in Jazz from the Jazz-Institute Berlin and was a guest student at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki in 2015.
