Info for Philipp van Endert Trio (Remixed & Remastered 2025)

The latest release of guitar player/composer Philipp van Endert works in the very intimate environment of a trio. It is probably the most mature and sensitive performance among the more than 20 albums on which he played as either leader or Sideman. This timeless Jazz recording came out so well because Philipp van Endert and his partners André Nendza and Kurt Billker have worked together for many years and have a familiar relation and intimate knowledge of each other, which can be felt in each and every take. The careful selection of the compositions and the contribution of the great solo artists Kenny Wheeler and Rob Hall underline the singular atmosphere of this session. Van Endert shows his straightforward power in a very impressive manner and brings all merits to bear in this great Jazz recording, which is full of character.

„A guitar sound that spreads so softly and organically from the ground into the environment, as if it were not played by a human, but grown after a warm summer rain“ (Jazzthetik)

“His music is beautiful and exhilarating, and will please all who care to listen”
