Info for Ravel: Chansons et Mélodies

Maurice Ravel represents the quintessence of French music, with its nobility, its love of great poetry, its diaphanous harmonies, its subtle and irresistible melodic lines (Les Chansons Madécasses) and often, an aristocratic humor hardly afraid of excesses (Les Histoires Naturelles). His passion for popular melody can be seen many times in several collections contained in this recording: they are absolutely glorious illustrations of it.

Victor Sicard, baritone
Anna Cardona, piano
