Info for Sincere
A reawakening for the Swedish visionaries, Sincere solidifies their impressive trajectory in a fuzzed out haze of dark and arresting shoegaze pop. An expansive trip through noisier, bittersweet pop realms that recalls My Bloody Valentine, Slowdive and Deerhunter.
“One of the best bands in the world” (Gorilla vs Bear)
“Your next Scandinavian indie pop obsession.” (Flood)
“Stunning” (Stereogum)
Underpinning everything there’s a continuing sense of drama throughout; richly textured crescendos, chiming guitars and delicate melodies are guided by Caroline Landahl’s tender yet sharpened vocals. Sincere is joyously effervescent, but with a dark underbelly where fury manifests in a swirl of entrancing and propulsive percussion.
A gorgeous and dazzling piece of aching romanticism, destined to feature on a thousand mixtapes.
Recorded last year in Malmö, Hater welcomed two new band members and those early day sparks saw them quickly turning demos into fully-formed new songs that appear on the record. Sincere was produced by long-time collaborator Joakim Lindberg and was mixed and mastered by John Cornfield, whose credits include Ride, The Stone Roses and Robert Plant.

Hater
It’s been a quick rise for Swedish indie pop quartet Hater. Malmö based group signed to Fire Records releasing double LP ‘Siesta’ (2018), 7” ‘Four Tries Down/It’s A Mess’ (2019) and EP ‘Red Blinders’ (2017). Set to release their new album ‘Sincere’ on 6th May on Fire Records. They will also have a run of live dates across the UK and Europe this year.

Touring extensively around Europe over the last few years, they’ve performed at arenas and concert halls with Ben Howard. Festival performances have included End Of The Road, Eurosonic, Ment, Roskilde and Sea Change. In 2018 they performed at SXSW which saw them capture NPR’s attention on their ‘Austin 100’ list: “Their songs epitomize jangling grace as singer Caroline Landahl coos with maximum approachability.”
Following a hugely successful run of SXSW showcases, they returned again in 2019 for their first tour of America.
Hailed as Stereogum’s Best New Bands Of 2017, their last album saw support from Bandcamp who loved their “winning indie pop” along with BBC6 Music, BBC Radio 1 and huge backing across US college radio.
Hater are Caroline Landahl, Måns Leonartsson, Frederick Rundquist and Rasmus Andersson.
