Biography TRET Trio
TRET Trio
TRET TRIO is a dynamic combination of three experienced jazz luminaries from the UK and central Europe scene, who together explore the unusual setting of saxophones (Rob Hall) and two harmony instruments - guitar (Philipp van Endert) and Wurlitzer e-piano (Tobias Weindorf).
Formed in 2023, the ensemble has played concerts in their respective countries, including Alte Post Kulturforum (Neuss), Heimathirsch Jazz Club (Köln), Chelmsford Cathedral and The Jazz Centre UK.
In 2025 the ensemble launched their debut album CROW JAM in a joint label release between JazzSick Records (Germany) and FMR (UK), in both CD and LP formats, recorded at their creative home, JazzSick Studios, Düsseldorf.
TRET TRIO engages listeners with their distinctive recipe of improvised virtuosity, interaction, intimacy, poignancy, abstraction and humor through well-crafted compositions that have both an immediate and a lasting impact.
Scottish multi-instrumentalist Rob Hall (saxophone, clarinet and piano), renowned German jazz guitarist Philipp van Endert and outstanding German pianist Tobias Weindorf present a diverse program of lyrical, adventurous music and reinterpreted repertoire from the jazz canon. With their extensive touring experience, they have produced dozens of recordings featuring luminaries such as Kenny Wheeler, Jim Mullen, Lee Konitz and many others, and composed new music penned by soloists and orchestras.
