Biography Christian Zack

Christian Zack
Passion for creative design of guitar sound worlds lead the half-Chilean guitarist, composer and guitar builder Christian Leonardo Zack his very own way:

Guided by his father on the piano and his mother on the violin, he was introduced to the world of music at the age of 5. At the age of 15, he discovered the world of the guitar and one year later moved with his mother to their other home in Chile.

During his classical guitar studies in Chile, he met the guitar maker Carlos Lopez Menares with whom he eventually apprenticed: "the search for new worlds of sound never ends".

That is why the young artist continues to research and experiment tirelessly here in Dresden by building and "recycling" instruments from all kinds of materials.

His compositions combine various influences from impressionism, fingerstyle, South American folklore, jazz and the many journeys he has made around the world.

During his guitar studies at the Hochschule für Musik in Dresden, he won the European Guitar Award in January 2021.

Publications of his works with "Schott" and a CD production with the label "Dr Heart Music" as well as numerous concerts on tours and festivals followed.

Winner of the European Guitar Award 2021
