Anna Margolina

Biography Anna Margolina

Anna Margolina
was born in Minsk, into a family of musicians and artists. She has lived in Berlin since 1992 and founded her own ensemble here, with which she now plays at festivals and in renowned jazz clubs. Anna tours Germany's stages as a soloist with the "Andrej Hermlin Swing Dance Orchestra", performing well-known hits from the 1930s, and also stands at the microphone alongside Tom Gaebel. Today she performs her own programme "Sing me a swing song and let me dance" in cooperation with local dance schools. The singer is also at home in contemporary sounds - during the pandemic she developed an unusual online jazz format (Old Fashioned Sleepless Nights) with pianist Kenneth Berkel, which the duo regularly streams on YouTube. They dedicate the 7th season to Kenneth's compositions and are finally able to invite guest musicians. At the same time, Anna becomes part of the ensemble "Kaminer & Die Antikörper", releases a joint album (label: Trikont) and tours 15 cities with her "Jazz & Yiddish" programme.

In June 2023, she and her band release their debut album "One Endless Night" on the XJAZZ!Music label, which tells the story of their emigration.
