Alexei Melnikov
started piano at the age of six and studied for 12 years at Gnessin State Musical College in Moscow, working with Tatiana Shklovskaya. At the age of seven, he participated in his first international competition in Athens. He continued his studies in 2008 at the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory with Professor Sergei Dorensky and his teaching assistants, Nikolai Lugansky, Pavel Nersesian and Andrei Pisarev.

Alexei has performed with the Belgorod Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra, Tomsk, Chamber Orchestra of Veliky Novgorod Philharmonic, Chamber Orchestra ‘Virtuosi di Praga’, Orchestra Filarmonica ‘Mihail Jora’ di Bacau, San Marino Symphony Orchestra and Tokyo Symphony Orchestra among others. He has given recitals in many cities of Russia, Germany, Italy, France and Japan including such venues as Salle Cortot in Paris, Bunka Kaikan in Tokyo, Palác Žofín in Prague, Teatro ‘La Fenice’ in Venice and the Grand Hall of the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory.
