Biography Cordas et Bentu Duo, Francesca Apeddu, Maria Luciani

Cordas et Bentu Duo
Francesca Apeddu, flutist, and Maria Luciani, guitarist, debuted as Cordas et Bentu Duo in 2013, choosing a Sardinian name, “strings and wind” as a tribute to their homeland. Since then they have performed in Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Croatia and Spain.

Both obtained the diploma with honors at the Sassari Conservatory of Music, with Carmelita Scano and Roberto Masala.

As a duo they received the Diploma of Merit, reserved for the best students of Oscar Ghiglia, at the Chigiana Music Academy in Siena. They recently obtained with honors a Master's Degree in Chamber Music II level at the Parma Conservatory, where they studied with the Parma Trio (Enrico Bronzi, Ivan Rabaglia and Alberto Miodini) together with Pierpaolo Maurizzi and Danusha Waskiewicz.

Maria and Francesca owe their musical growth to the many Maestros they met during their training: Michele Nurchis (their first chamber music teacher), Giampaolo Bandini, Massimo Felici, Frédéric Zigante, Arturo Tallini, Lucia Pizzutel.

They have won several international competitions, such as the 1st Prize in the “IX International Chamber Music Competition with Guitar “Ciutat d'Elx” (Spain) and the 1st Prize in the “20th Transilvania Guitar Festival – Chamber Music Section, Dumitru Capoianu Competition” in 2022, 1st Prize at the Bale-Valle International Competition (Croatia) in 2017, 1st Prize at the “Nilo Peraldo Bert” International Competition in Piedicavallo (Biella) in 2017, 2nd Prize at the Paganini International Competition in Parma in 2019 and others.
