Oleg Kaskiv

Oleg Kaskiv
was born in Kremenetz, Ukraine, in 1978. He studied firstly at the Krushelnytska Special music school and then at the Lysenko Conservatory in Lviv (Ukraine). During this period he won a number of prizes, including International Dvarionas Competition (Lithuania), International Kotorovych Competition (Ukraine).

He came to study at Menuhin Academy under the guidance of Alberto Lysy in 1996, and he is now a professor of violin at the Academy, also a leader of Camerata Menuhin. Since 1995 he is a professor of violin at the Academy and leads the Menuhin Academy Orchestra (former Camerata Menuhin). In 2007 he also became a Professor at the Conservatoire de Musique de Geneve.

During his time at Menuhin Academy, he has performed with the Camerata Lysy, travelling around the world. He is a laureate of many violin competitions, Queen Elisabeth International Music Competition (Belgium); International Oistrakh Competition (Ukraine); International Spohr Competition (Germany); International Montreal Competition (Canada); International Premio Lipizer (Italy), International Molinari Competition (Switzerland).

Performances as a soloist witw Camerata Lysy, Camerata de Lausanne, Orchestre National de Belgique, Orchestre Symphonique de Montreal, Sinfonieorchester Baden-Baden, Kiev National Orchestra, Philarmonic of Odessa.
