Info zu Deuxiéme Mouvement

Nach dem viel beachteten Debüt von Ôtrium im Jahr 2021 legt Trompeter und Komponist Quentin Ghomari nun mit ÔTRIUM - deuxième mouvement sein zweites Album vor – eine intuitive, lebendige Fortsetzung seines persönlichen Weges im kammermusikalischen Jazz.

Das Trio Ôtrium mit Trompete, Kontrabass und Schlagzeug entstand aus dem Wunsch Ghomaris, seiner musikalischen Sprache mehr Raum und Eigenständigkeit zu geben. Der Name ist eine Wortneuschöpfung aus „Trio“ und dem lateinischen otium – ein Begriff, der „kreative Muße“ beschreibt: eine bewusste, schöpferische Zurückgezogenheit, in der Kunst und Denken reifen können.

Deuxième mouvement erzählt vom Unterwegssein. Mal zögerlich, mal schwebend, mal entschlossen, aber stets im Moment. Eine Musik, die atmet, sich bewegt, nichts beweisen will, aber viel erzählt.

Quentin Ghomari
is a graduate of the CNSM in Paris. Active member of the Rouen collective Les Vibrants Défricheurs, it is with Papanosh that he flourishes mainly as a performer and composer. Their albums "Your Beautiful Mother" (2012), "Oh Yeah oh" (2015), "A Chicken in a bottle" (2017) and "Home Songs" (2018) are the fruit of a collective adventure of more than ten years which continues in the "Home" project with Napoléon Maddox and Roy Nathanson, a concert-show which involves local actors where it is played, as well as in a new creation with the singer André Minvielle on the universe of Jacques Prévert, “Prévert Parade”. Alongside this adventure, Quentin Ghomari forged strong ties with the Pegazz et l’Helicon company: he recorded "Des Trucs Pareils" (2011), "Encore" (2013), "Ubik" and "Easy Listening" (2016) with Ping Machine, then "Seven Years" (2017) with saxophonist Julien Soro's Big Four as a guest, and finally "Gonam City" (2018) in duet with pianist Marc Benham. In 2019, he joined the Orchestre National de Jazz (National Jazz Orchestra) under the direction of Frédéric Maurin.

Antoine Paganotti
Born in 1972 in Montreuil, son of bassist Bernard Paganotti, Antoine began playing the piano at the age of 9 at the Montreuil Conservatory, then chose drums of his own accord at the age of 14.

He began his career as a musician at the age of 19, in 1991, first with composer-keyboardist Patrick Gauthier. In 1999, he joined the French band Magma as a singer until 2008. He performed with them on the albums Theusz Hamtaahk Trilogie (2001), K.A. (2004), and Ëmëhntëhtt-Rê (2009), the DVDs Mythes et Légendes: Epok II, Epok III, and Epok IV, released between 2006 and 2008, and dozens of concerts in Europe, the United States, and Japan.

Leaving Magma in 2008 to focus on drums, he has been sought out by countless leading soloists from the historical and contemporary jazz scene, including Benny Golson, Kenny Wheeler, Denise King, Abraham Burton, Jérémy Pelt, Perico Sambeat, David Doruvska, Chris Cheek, Olivier Hutman, Gaël Horellou, Pierrick Pédron, Richard Pinhas, Jérôme Barde, Baptiste Trotignon, Pierre de Bethmann, Vincent Peirani, Yoann Loustalot, Pierre Perchaud, Christophe Panzani, David Prez, Sandro Zerafa, Thomas Curbillon, Nicolas Moreaux, Arnaud Cuisinier, and others.

Antoine Paganotti has toured in Japan, Canada, the United States, Mexico, Russia, and throughout Europe.

Yoni Zelnik
French-born musician Yoni Zelnik is a skilled performer who has established himself in the world of jazz, notably Smooth Jazz. He contributes a distinctive and alluring tone to the genre with his superb bass guitar skills. 



Zelnik's music transports listeners to a world of mellow and soulful melodies because of his natural talent to groove and produce melodic lines. His playing is characterized by its fluidity and accuracy, and he moves deftly through difficult chord progressions. 



Zelnik's proficiency on the bass guitar is demonstrated by his ability to lay a strong musical foundation while simultaneously fusing complex solos and improvisations with ease. His in-depth knowledge of harmony and rhythm enables him to produce compelling arrangements that captivate listeners and leave them wanting more. 



Zelnik draws influence from the lengthy history of jazz and incorporates blues and funk elements into his music to give it a little roughness and groove. Dynamic contrasts abound in his works, displaying his capacity to produce both delicate and forceful melodic passages. 



Yoni Zelnik is a major player in the smooth jazz scene thanks to his evident talent and love of jazz. His music is a reflection of his commitment to his art and his talent for engrossing audiences with melodic narrative. Zelnik continues to push the limits of the genre, whether onstage or in the studio, having a profound effect on the Jazz scene.
